Los Angeles area deputies were able to rescue a woman who miraculously survived after falling hundreds of feet off a cliff.
The woman, who has not been publicly identified, tumbled off a foot path in Rancho Palos Verdes to the rocky bottom 200 feet below early Friday morning, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office.
Police haven’t said how long she was down there but eventually people walking on the trail heard her screaming and called for help, Sheriff Alex Villanueva said.
Deputies were able to fly a helicopter over the shoreline and an officer rappelled down below and lifted the woman into the air and to safety.
The woman was hospitalized with minor injuries.
