Walt Disney World characters allege tourists touched them inappropriately: cops

At least three Walt Disney World employees filed police reports after claiming tourists touched them inappropriately in separate incidents.

A 36-year-old woman who plays Mickey Mouse said a woman patted the head of her costume multiple times which caused it to slide and strain her neck, resulting in a trip to the hospital.

However, the woman told investigators she did not think the woman was trying to hurt her, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office ruled it a civil matter, not a criminal one.

The same day, Dec. 4, a man from Minnesota groped the chest of a woman in a Minnie Mouse costume after taking photographs with the man and his wife. The man also had “an inappropriate interaction with a cast member” the next day at the Magic Kingdom.

The man was banned from all Walt Disney theme parks, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The woman in the Minnie Mouse costume declined to press charges.

On Dec. 3, a woman in a Donald Duck costume was similarly touched by a woman in her 60s in a restaurant in the Animal Kingdom.

According to the report, the woman asked to kiss “Donald” and the 18-year-old woman in the costume agreed. The woman began touching and grabbing the character’s body before sticking her hands inside the costume as her family begged for her to stop.

The employee later decided against pressing charges believing that the woman may have dementia.

In November, a 51-year-old man was arrested for groping an employee dressed as a Disney Princess while posing for a photograph.

“Everyone should feel safe at work, and we encourage Cast Members to come forward in any uncomfortable situation,” Disney spokeswoman Andrea Finger said in a statement. “We provide multiple resources to protect our Cast Members’ well-being, including on-site law enforcement officers who respond, and are available to them, if needed.”
