A Utah substitute teacher has been fired after she was accused of shaming a fifth-grade student who told her days before Thanksgiving that he was thankful his two dads would finally be able to adopt him, one of the boy’s soon-to-be parents, “Dancing with the Stars” pro Louis van Amstel, said in a series of social media posts.

The woman had asked the class a week before the holiday what they were thankful for this year, but when the 11-year-old boy gave her his heartfelt answer, the woman allegedly snapped and began sharing her homophobic views.

“The substitute teacher was giving her very clear opinion that two men is wrong, homosexuality is wrong,” van Amstel said.

The dance champion and choreographer said school staff called him immediately after the incident and told him the woman, whose name has not been released, was escorted out and has been banned from teaching at the school.

His son, whose final adoption hearing is set for Dec. 19, didn’t even want to tell anyone what had happened, but three girls in his class repeatedly asked the teacher to stop and then walked out of the room to tell the principal, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.

“I’m truly disgusted that the bully in this situation is a teacher in a public school,” van Amstel wrote in a Nov. 22 Facebook post.

The incident happened at Deerfield Elementary School in Cedar Hills, about 30 miles south of Salt Lake City. The teacher was hired through a contracting company, Kelly Services, which told the Daily News on Monday that she has been fired.

“We are concerned about any reports of inappropriate behavior and take these matters very seriously,” the firm said in a statement. “We conducted an investigation and made the decision to end the employee’s relationship with Kelly Services.”

Van Amstel has appeared in several seasons of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and is now a judge on the Dutch edition of the show. He married his longtime partner, Joshua van Amstel, in January 2017.

Louis van Amstel praised the students and the school for standing up for his family and “against this bully.”
