Friday, 10/08/2018, Washington, DC Insider – North Korea is accusing the United Stated of jeopardizing the country’s move towards denuclearization and is still following an outdated acting script.
In June 2018, the two countries leaders held a historic summit between Trump and Kim, in which North Korea agreed to denuclearize in exchange of lifting the US sanctions on Korea.
North Korea stated the United States is not working on what had been agreed on. He added that his country has haled nuclear and missile tests, demolished an underground nuclear tests site and started dismantling a missile engine test site.
North Korea also accused the American officials of “going against the intention of President Trump” by “making baseless allegations” and “desperate attempts at intensifying the international sanctions and pressure”.
Last month, Korean officials described that the United States’ attitude as “gangster-like”. The North Korean Foreign Minister said that the US actions following the summit are alarming.
The Iranian president Ruhani has warned that the US administration and Trump are not to be trusted after tearing up a deal to lift the sanctions on Iran in Obama’s era. The Foreign Minister of Korea is now on a trip to Tehran.
On the other hand, American top officials have repeatedly accused North Korea of not committing to denuclearization. Nikki Haley said that Washington is not willing to wait for too long for North Korea. And the national security advisor Bolton said that North Korea is not making any progress.
US secretary of State Mile Pompeo said that it was important for his country to maintain diplomatic and economic pressure on North Korea.
At the same time, North and South Korea officials have agreed to meet to discuss a third summit between the tow leaders.
It is expected that the summit will discuss the relationship between North Korea and the United States as well as the denuclearization process.
