Gunman in mummy face-wrap wanted for burglary

He came wrapped and strapped.

A gun-toting robber stuck-up a Peoria, IL. auto parts store Tuesday while wearing “mummy-like” bandages to cover his face, according to The Peoria Journal Star.

The ghoulish heist, which happened at a central Illinois AutoZone at 5:10 p.m., prompted a cashier to ask the bandit if the robbery was a joke.

“No,” the thief said, while demanding cash.

The AutoZone worker emptied his drawer, which amounted to $150 according to cops.

This isn’t the first time a robber has donned a mummy disguise. On Friday the 13th in September, a man dubbed “Mummy Marauder” robbed a bank in Houston, Texas, according to the FBI. That thief did not brandish a weapon.

An FBI spokesman told ABC that the agency was “hoping to wrap this case up quickly” and offered a $5,000 reward for his capture. It’s unclear if there’s any connection between the mummified bandits, who struck nearly 1,000 miles apart.
