Andrew Giuliani to Run For New York Governor

New York (Washington Insider Magazine)  Andrew Giuliani announced on Tuesday that he will run for New York governor next year. He is the son of former New York City Mayor, Rudy Giuliani. Rudy Giuliani is also a former White House official.

“I’m a politician out of the womb. It’s in my DNA,” claimed Andrew Giuliani, a Republican. He will be in a potential general election against Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Andrew Giuliani boasted, “Giuliani versus Cuomo. Holy smokes. It’s Muhammad Ali versus Joe Frazier. We can sell tickets at Madison Square Garden.”

Andrew Giuliani has been considering the gubernatorial race for weeks. He told Politico last month that he had told Trump about such a run. He admitted that he told Trump that he would be able to “make inroads that no other potential candidate would be able to.”

The campaign launch for Andrew Giuliani has come at a precarious legal moment for Trump and Rudy Giuliani, who is Trump’s personal attorney. Rudy Giuliani’s home and office “were raided by FBI agents three weeks ago as part of prosecutors’ long-running probe into the elder Giuliani’s dealings in Ukraine.”

Complicating Andrew Giuliani’s path to the GOP governor’s nomination is Long-Island’s Republican Lee Zeldin. He is another ardent Trump supporter.

With New York attempting to replace Cuomo – “who is facing an impeachment investigation stemming from multiple accusations of sexual harassment “—with another gubernatorial candidate, they have yet to find a “moderate Republican” who is willing to run.
