A drive-by shooting in Texas left two dead and multiple others wounded Friday night while the “ambushed” group was filming a music video, authorities said.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez identified the two victims as Hispanic men likely in their early 20s, AP News reported Saturday.

Originally, Gonzalez tweeted that there appeared to be a total of four victims, including two who were injured. Early Saturday, he took to Twitter to confirm “9 total gunshot wound victims: 2 were confirmed deceased at scene, 1 was critical, the others remain hospitalized.”

According to AP, Gonzalez said authorities were called around 9:30 p.m. about a Houston-area drive-by shooting and they responded to a residential neighborhood — though the crime scene went on for multiple blocks — where a group of men was filming a music video.

“There were other vehicles that were staged there and we believe they were filming some type of music video when, all of a sudden, basically they were ambushed, we believed by individuals in cars and/or foot that fired shots into the parking lot area,” Gonzalez explained to the media.

The number of shooters is unclear, as is the motive for the attack.
